Assessment:

This week, I was able to continue my weekly routine of meetings and updates with Mr. Meek. This week was more of a discussion of updates within our lives as our mentor-relationship is now turning into a long-term professional friendship. Moreover, I was able to provide insight on the progress with my research paper on how I approach completing each section.

During this meeting, a large part of our discussion again revolved around my Final Product. As Mr. Meek and I have both established the importance of consistent communication, I was able to receive vital feedback from Mr. Meek about my research paper, the section outlines, and the progress I have made thus far. We specifically talked about the research paper being similar to entrepreneurship in that an individual wants their research paper to be comprehensive and all-inclusive. However, it is vital to realize the importance of presenting targeted and consumable information to an identified target audience. Therefore, given my current section describing the field of impact investing, Mr. Meek did hint at the fact that I must include simplified language and concepts while covering many topics, thereby educating the audience without making it a difficulty for them to understand to content. Through his feedback, it serves as a guiding light for me to write my next research sections as I look to effectively communicate large amounts of information in a concise manner.

Soon, I plan on authoring my other sections, the hardest being the stock analysis. As I was able to creatively showcase my ESG statistics of each of the three stocks in my Original Work, I will have to quantitatively portray both the financial and the ESG analysis in the professional research paper. To do so, not only will I have to effectively portray financial data of each stock and the reasons of my choice, but metrically justify the ESG reasons behind me choosing my three stock picks. This will be difficult as there is not universally accepted quantitative manner to showcase ESG metrics, but that is an aspect in which I will have to display my innovative skills.

I was also able to provide Mr. Meek with important updates on Groundify while learning about his new project and ventures. By conveying Groundify’s progress and task list, I was able to gain an important insight at where I truly was with accomplishing Groundify’s goals and absorb feedback with how I can better streamline my goals. In addition, Mr. Meek described his new projects and entrepreneurial ventures, which showed me the importance of innovation and following one’s passions regardless of age or stage in life. He mentioned how we must “continue going at it” and I understood how regardless of my commitments now and in the future, I must strive to innovate and create while discovering new passions.

In conclusion, the biggest takeaways from this meeting were that I was able to continue developing my Final Product, receive feedback on my completed sections which will guide me through the rest of my paper, provide updates, and learn about the life truth that constant growth and innovation is vital for an individual to continue learning.
