The God of Covenant
God deals with man through the covenant he makes with him.
Why Covenant?
First of all, we are not alone, life is to be lived in union.
In union we live from Him (Purposes, Plans and promises)
Jesus lived from the same union. He totally relied on the Father
Covenant is God’s faithfulness to us.
Faithfulness – God can and must be trusted. (Trustworthy)
Covenant explained: A blood covenant is a blood bond, for life or for death. Made between two parties, always with the shedding of blood and the taking of oaths. Covenant is to be understood as the giving of one's word, which is his oath, to keep the terms and commitments contained in it, it is binding, If the terms are not kept, life must be forfeited
Psalm 119:89 – Psalm 138:2 – His word is His bond.
Heaven on earth – we don’t go to God, to tell Him what’s going on in earth. We tell earth what is going on in heaven. (From a seated position) Mt. 6:10, Eph. 2:6
Jesus only said and did what He saw and heard in heaven.
The Father, being faithful backed Jesus up in all things.
The Father did not let Him down, was always faithful to His Son.
God the Father made covenant with God the Son. We are in that covenant, in Christ.
