Jennifer Ortiz

{She/Her/Hers]

Jennifer is a homebred Angelena. No matter where she’s lived, she always comes back to Los Angeles because she believes this is the best city. She attended Mills College in Oakland, California. Attending a women's college changed her life. There she honed her leadership skills and the deeply seated belief that education creates transformative growth, generational change and opportunity. After working in anti-proliferation and labor movements, she returned to academia.

Her curriculum is informed by principles of equity, justice, and the power of the personal narrative.

Jennifer has also worked with USC at the Center for Urban Education as a facilitator and member of their curriculum design team. Currently, she’s working on her first book which is based on Los Angeles.
