What’s Next?

Time does not wait for anyone or anything. Although that is common sense, many people fall victim to this fact as they feel they deserve a ‘break’ after an accomplishment. However, what these people then forget is this ‘break’ then causes them to fall behind on another task that has been lined up. This situation is the essential truth everyone must realize, yet most people continue to disregard it. My week has been characterized by this notion. As I worked tirelessly in attempts to finish homework, submit applications, and prepare for competitions, all while participating in the ISM Research Showcase, I felt that Saturday night should serve as a movie night, justifying my ‘long-deserved break’. And as expected, I woke up Sunday morning with piled of unfinished homework and other tasks to complete. Although it is the harsh reality, my active participation in the ISM program has helped me realize this truth and understand how, in our society, continuous growth is staying on track, staying on track is falling behind, and falling behind is unacceptable. With this realization, I have come to been appreciating the work I have to do and have attempted to actively enjoy this work, helping me stay motivated to finish while aiding me understand the assignment better.

Looking forward, as that is a vital component of growth, I plan to continue working with Mr. Meek to develop the basics of my Final Product. As we will be discussing my progress this week during our mentor visit, I hope to schedule a meeting with 1-2 local coffee shops to test the viability of The Green Bean Co. in the market.
