JOB TITLE: Resident in Counseling
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Clinical Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing and documenting daily individual and or group sessions and therapeutic interventions to clients. Develop and execute behavior modification strategies. Provide case management duties and service coordination in collaboration with other treatment team members. Monitor and assists in the development and implementation of individual service plans to include but not limited to social skills, peer relationships, problem solving, dealing with authority, anger management, medication education, impulse control, healthy communication, etc. Coordinate or assist with crisis intervention and stabilization services as appropriate. Complete bio psychosocial assessments and needs assessments, weekly progress reports, develop quarterly individual service plans and to assist and monitor clients with achieving behavioral goals. Provide and document weekly face to face or any interaction with client.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Registered with Department of Health Professions with at least 1-3 years of experience working with the ID/MH population.
Good knowledge of community-based behavioral health principles, clinical services operations, and psychotherapeutic treatment techniques.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and to maintain confidentiality according to all relevant regulations and agency requirements.
Ability to analyze findings, identify problems and formulate solutions.
Perform diagnostic bio psychosocial assessments for individual’s ages 6+.
Develop Individual Service Planning and Counseling Techniques, such as CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Motivational Enhancement, and REBT.
Performs case management and participates in all treatment team meetings in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Provide services to children, adolescents, and adults with serious emotional disturbances, serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and addictions.
Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends.
Utilize assessment tools, SASSI-3, PHQ-9, and Connor Ratings Scale.
Provide group and individual therapy to individual and families.
