There always comes a time wherein vulnerability plays a key role in order to maintain a healthy and professional relationship. With Mr. Meek serving as my mentor, his approachale personality has allowed me to communicate my ideas very easily. Due to this, my fifth mentor visit as a landmark not only as I made significant changes to the timeline of my company but also the fact that established another level of trust with my mentor. This sense of vulnerability will only be beneficial in the future as both Mr. Meek and I continued new to work together to develop this company. In addition, our quick turnaround and adaptation to the new timeline allowed us to make significant progress at this meeting as well since we focused on solidifying the end goal and planning steps to reach that goal.
Mr. Meek explained it very simply as he stated how if time is being put in, it should be worth it.
I strongly believe this was a landmark meeting as both of us began working towards a new path for this year. After openly communicating how my extensive priority list associated with schoolwork and college preparation is hindering my commitment to meet the ambitious goals made at the start of this journey, Mr. Meek effectively taught me how reevaluation and reflection were an important part of the journey as well. Being able to adapt and modify plans based on surrounding circumstances to ensure success is a vital part of the entrepreneurial journey as it is necessary for an individual to maintain a healthy equilibrium between work and play. In addition, through his actions, Mr. Meek showed me the viability of quick turnaround time wherein we immediately began to work on the new timeline. Resetting concrete goals for each checkpoint date, Mr. Meek and I agreed on how we can now focus more of our efforts on the details of the business rather than looking to get sales. Additionally, we also came to understand how, with the pre-established curriculum of the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy, we could both focus on targeting goals so the with my activities in the YEA program. As cash is king and an individual needs money to make money, Mr. Meek and I soldiering our focus for this week to be on the effective preparation for the YEA investor pitch, am amazing opportunity for me to network with individuals and raise startup seed investments for my company.
Despite this hard discussion, Mr. Meek and I, as mentioned before, immediately began our work on the new set of goals we established. Streamlining our efforts on the graphic design as we selected fonts for the logo and as we discussed the wireframing for the website, I learn the importance of achieving a certain level of satisfaction with each task. Mr. Meek explained it very simply as he stated how if time is being put in, it should be worth it. This simple yet meaningful statement not only changed my outlook towards that one task but has defined the way i tackle any situation. Looking to make this statement a habitual part of my personality, I will be able to not only succeed at the effective time management of my dark my tasks but will develop beneficial attributes to ensure high-quality performance in the workforce.
In conclusion, each mentor visit entails a new surprise and teaches me pricless lessons that, if implemented, will help me accomplish leagues more than I expect myself to be able to do now. Although the discussion at thi meeting was not easy, it taught me vital lessons which I look to incorporate into my perosnality. In addition, I look forward to continuing on this journey with the guidance of Mr. Meek.
