Structure

Thickets

November 9th, 2020

This week, I decided to bet down to business. As the past weeks have successfully passed as I have identified pain points within the field of impact investing, contemplated what I want from this journey, and penned a few thoughts for my projects this year, I decided to shift my mindset into further developing the technical knowledge that is common regardless of the project I complete. For that reason, I focused largely on the concepts of financial portfolios this week as they combine the research on how to analyze individual equities.

Through this, I learned the importance of managing a financial portfolio and the vital intersection of not only technical knowledge but of personality, as an impulsive trader might fall into a trap of losses whereas a smart, self-aware individual might minimize losses and recover them in another deal. More importantly, I look to implement this newly gained knowledge to my financial trading simulator and hopefully open a real Robinhood trading account to see my financial portfolio management skills in action.

In the future, I look forward to talking about this topic with the more professionals I meet and implementing this knowledge to execute whichever Original Work project I choose.
