[MEASURE 5] — THE RESURGENCE OF THE INSTRUMENTS
Thankfully, there is more to the story than this. This would be a noticeably short book if it were to end on only the fourth measure. The instruments may have arrived at a diminuendo, but, like orchestras in many pieces, they crescendoed back up, reaching greater heights than they had reached before. To quote Charlie in the Indian movie Happy New Year from 2014, “पिक्चर अभी बाकी है, मेरे दोस्त” (There is more to the movie, my friend).
However, things were not as they were 3 millennia before. Without the assistance of the instruments, life had indeed evolved, but not necessarily in a good way. The humans were too intelligent for their own good, using the power they had accumulated through 3 millennia of knowledge to wipe out entire species in their attempt to make their planet the way they wished it to be. The instruments were still known of as stories from the past. The locations of the cello and bass were unknown. The violin was located in the city of Old York Town, while the viola was in the city of Deli. This is where excavations were going on at the time. Humans, searching for information about the past to prove their superiority over other organisms and even each other, discovered power that could create or destroy, depending on its usage. This power was contained within material that was surprisingly hard and held the power to blind and burn those who touched it.

Indeed, as the excavation of the instruments began, many suffered from injuries that made them unable to work. They could not see until a decade from then, and they suffered from constant pain that felt like their arms were burning that lasted for a decade. However, their eyes showed no signs of any problems, and their arms did not appear to be injured. Therefore, in the typical human way, these people in pain were ostracized and sent to mental hospitals.
Thankfully for the workers, one person eventually had the brilliant idea of drilling into a small crack that was visible on both clumps of strange material, as they believed the instrument cases were. They drilled into these small cracks, and the cases popped open as easily as snapping a thin, brittle twig.
The humans, who were each greedily imagining the profits they could make off of allowing the media to obtain the story of their mysterious cases, did not spot the blinding flashes of light and darkness, respectively. However, other people across the globe spotted the bizarre light and darkness show, which appeared to be light shaking hands with darkness. However, they chided themselves for believing so, for everybody in their world knew light and darkness were inanimate, and so could not shake hands with each other. At the time, they did not realize how mistaken they were.
