Refocus

February 7th, 2020

Often times on our journeys to achieve our goals, our paths twist and turn, curve and circle. They are never straight roads to success. And it is this nature of us acting and advancing that is most important, as we are able to learn from these twists and turns to then progress. In a similar vein, I have to decided to refocus and realign, thereby pivoting from my original idea for my ISM Final Product. Initially, I was planning on completing a business plan for a financial technology company. However, upon further discussion with my mentor and self-evaluation, I feel as if that would not represent my learnings in the best of ways, as my impact investing learnings would be diluted with social entrepreneurship. Instead, I have decided to take the traditional path, one which I have not explored yet – research. I plan on converting my educational infographic Original Work into a detailed Final Product that is an extensive research paper detailing the origins and applications of impact investing. It would serve the community as well as appropriately showcase my technical investing knowledge.

I look forward to discussing this shift further with Mr. Meek in the near future and upon arriving at a decision, updating my ISM path to complete my ISM career in the best of ways.
