Into the Tunnel
September 19th, 2020
As a teenager, I have been prone to social comparisons. However, what I have come to learn from comparing myself to my peers and therefore attracting negativity is that it is a complete waste of energy and time. After understanding the fact that everyone is running their own race, I have come to strive to be better than one person: myself. After adapting this new mindset, I have come to be more comfortable exploring as I have understood that learning is more important than success. This has led me to discover a range of new sectors of the finance world that, although they may not be traditional, have permitted me to combine my interests of finance and innovation.
As my “mentor”, Mr. Meek, has guided me continuously to explore different intersections of the finance world, I looked to explore a process that is exciting to all: IPOs. With dedicating my research into this sector for this week, I was able to explore SPACs and the world of filing and M&A. through this research, I was able to combine the aspects of innovation and finance to carve a potential path for the future in terms of research and application.
For the future, I look forward not only researching SPACs further but exploring other aspects of the finance world which are unique, as the path where many have not walked is the path that is most rewarding, not only for myself, but for everyone who is impacted.
