Baby Steps

My journey as an entrepreneur has officially begun. The Independent Study & Mentorship Program, thus far, has not only allowed me to explore the field of entrepreneurship but experience it as well. With an intensive amount of scheduling, planning, and preparation this week, I have come to understand the nature of being an entrepreneur as, unlike other jobs, they work around the clock with unexpected work hours. In addition, I was also able to schedule my first investor meeting and a few other interviews with the managers of local cafes to conduct primary market analysis. I have tended to gravitate towards liking the communication and interpersonal aspect of being an entrepreneur more than working on a laptop but have simultaneously come to understand both parts play equally important roles in the process. In addition, with constant help from Mr. Meek and the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy program, I have been able to meet my timeline thus far and strive for continuous progress regarding my company.

As I look ahead, I plan on meeting my deadlines as staying on track wins half the battle. In addition, I look to develop new relationships with professionals who can help me develop my business and grow my network. Lastly, I look to continue learning about entrepreneurship while actively implementing it through a business.
