The Secret to contentment – Eternity, Time and Space
Jesus makes this astounding declaration, “Before Abraham was, I am.” In other instances, we see the Word speak about future events as if they have already happened in the past.
Hundreds of years before the birth and death of Jesus – Isaiah 53:5
Matt. 8:16-17 – Isaiah 65:24
These statements draw us into another realm/dimension
One that there is a past, present and future and one that is eternal.
Time is seen as temporal, subject to change.
Eternity is seen as absolute, fixed.
Isaiah 53:5 and Revelation 13:8 – something happened in eternity that overflowed into time. Eternity arrived in time.
Paul refers to this as the fulness of time – Eph. 1:10
A singular event that has consequences for mankind for all ages.
What is revealed here is that what has already been done in eternity, the eternal invades time and space, it enters into and works for the good.
It is finished – the work is done and will now continue releasing from heaven on earth all that has been already done.
Humanly speaking, we are wired to believe that life is a series of random events that just happen, and we live fearing the future. We wait and see...
This caused fear, anxiety, hopelessness, and depression just to name a few.
We do not live in certainty. Jesus lived in certainty.
Jesus synced both realm and lived out of eternity invading the temporal.
We see a beautiful picture of this in the promise of Asher.
Deut. 33:27 – the Eternal God is thy refuge.
He is the God of the forefront.
The secret to contentment is being fully assured that eternity is already done and being released in time as our hope and refuge. We can face the future with certainty.
